CAUSE and EFFECT!
For Every Action There Is a Reaction [Newton’s Third Law of Motion]; therefore; For Every Reaction These Has To Be an Action! For Every Cause There Is an Effect [Ralph Waldo Emerson's stated The Law of Cause and Effect is The Law of all Laws]; therefore; For Every Effect There Must Be a Cause.
CAUSE and EFFECT!
Now that I have recovered from my CoV19 cold, I want to get back to my chief area of concern, dedicated to helping teach others how to heal themselves of their nightmares and flashbacks.
Basic survival instincts are effects and reactions. They are not the problem, they can become dysfunctional ,but they are the clients best efforts to stay safe and sane through the cause.
the cause is the problem!!
In olden days danger would have been ‘Sabretooth Tiger’ or ‘a Band of Vikings’, attacking our village we would be right and proper to take up arms in anger or fear to protect ourselves, our families and our communities. When we were not able to defend ourselves, we would: run away; a geographical change; every man for himself .
When those were not options we would play dead or hide under the bed; in the closet; behind the sofa; in the cupboard under the stairs; and stay absolutely quiet.
Nowadays most of us don’t have such threats to deal with ,except for those of us that come from combat or abusive environments. The point is we will all react to the same principles, with whatever basic survival skills; we have to hand; in that moment such as:
disassociation; depression; post traumatic stress; anxiety in all it’s forms; anger; rage; bipolar, compulsive or obsessive behavior; co-dependency; blame, shame, guilt, running away, isolation, victim/martyr hood; alcohol, drugs, medication, food, sugar, self harm in all its forms, suicidal tendencies, shopping, spending, stealing, crime, violence, and I'm sure there are others you can think of.
The point is these are all the reaction and effect to the cause.
Now accepting that both Newton and Emerson have been proven correct in their findings, how is that the mental health industry is targeting the reactions and effect and not the original ACTION & CAUSE?
I believe the flaw in the mental health industry, is that it cannot process, heal and release a past event, it can only treat what it is presented with ,and that is why the focus is on ‘the reaction and not the action’ , on ‘the effect and not the cause’.
This means that sadly, there is a clear line drawn in the sand of who are the winners and who are the losers; and that is plain wrong .It is time for this to be addressed, both by the powers that be and the powers that should.
